Scarlett Johansson (born November 22 1984 New York City New York, U.S.) American actor and performer whose performance variety earned her acclaim across a range of genres ranging from period drama to thriller and action adventure. Johansson was the daughter of an architect and a producer was brought up as a child in New York City. Her twin brother Hunter and her were her youngest siblings. When she was just seven year old, she began casting for commercials on television. To enhance her acting skills, she joined an acting class at Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in Manhattan followed by she attended the Professional Children's School. At age eight she appeared alongside Ethan Hawke in the Off-Broadway production Sophistry, and at nine she made her first film appearance in Rob Reiner's North (1994). Johansson appeared next in Just Cause (1996), but she was Manny & Lo 1996 that gave her her breakthrough. The film is about two young girls that have fled to escape. The Horse Whisperer (2000), in which she played the role of a teenage girl who has a deformity because of an accident earned an acclaim from critics. Then in Ghost World 2001 (as the teenager who is a cynical outcast Rebecca), Johansson gained an even greater amount of attention. The role was in the Dannon yogurt commercial. Like many actresses who are new choose to pursue, she decided to build her talent in theatre. Her work included various USA projects while getting her stage debut with Wildflower. She was educated at Stonestreet Studios, the Stonestreet Studios Conservatory of the New York University Tisch School of the Arts.
